Express Restore™ Asset Management Program Expands Capabilities to Include Symbol® Handheld Scanners

Buffalo Grove, Illinois, May 18, 2006

CrossCom National, LLC, an industry leader in retail voice, POS, data and wireless solutions, has expanded its innovative Express Restore™ program to include Symbol® handheld scanners. The Express Restore program provides significant cost-savings through store systems maintenance and asset management. “Adding the popular Symbol Scanners to the Express Restore program is quite significant to retailers across the country,” said Greg Miller, President and CEO of CrossCom National. “There are millions of Symbol units in use, and now there is a source for fast and cost-effective refurbishment and management of these assets.”

Through Express Restore, a customer experiencing problems with store systems receives a pre-configured, fully-functional unit overnight — eliminating the time and expense of in-store repair or replacement. The malfunctioning unit is shipped to CrossCom National, where it is completely refurbished and added to the customer’s inventory for future use.

“For those with wired and wireless scanners, this program significantly reduces the total cost of ownership,” Miller said. “There are immediate savings as a result of reducing pipeline inventory, and longer-term cost reductions realized by lengthening the lifecycle of the assets. Another key feature of Express Restore is asset tracking, which is essential to accurate asset management.”

The Express Restore program helps retailers achieve these savings for a wide range of in-store assets, including data systems, POS systems, telephones/telephone systems, and voice/data peripherals.
