Chairman
John Goense became Chairman of the Board in 2004, when Goense Bounds & Partners made an investment in CrossCom National. Mr. Goense is a Managing Director of Goense Bounds, which he co-founded in 2000. Mr. Goense is responsible for managing the firm, including fundraising, initiating investment opportunities, structuring acquisitions, raising financing, advising portfolio management teams, and arranging for the disposition of partnership investments.
Mr. Goense began his private equity investment career in 1988 as founder and President of Heller Equity Capital Corporation. In 1996, Mr. Goense joined Allstate Insurance Company as Managing Director, responsible for its $750 million private equity portfolio, and managed the highly profitable repositioning of that portfolio. Prior to entering private equity investing, Mr. Goense held positions in investment banking and commercial banking in addition to managing a successful start-up company.
Mr. Goense earned his MBA from the University of Chicago and graduated magna cum laude from Aquinas College with a BS degree in Accounting and Business Administration.
Erik W. Bloom
Erik Bloom is a Managing Director of Goense Bounds & Partners, which he co-founded in 2000. Mr. Bloom is responsible for initiating investment opportunities, structuring acquisitions, raising financing, advising portfolio management teams, and arranging for the disposition of partnership investments.
Prior to the formation of Goense Bounds & Partners in 2000, Mr. Bloom was at Allstate Private Equity from 1997 through 1999. During 1996, Mr. Bloom was a management consultant in the London office of Bain & Company, where he advised a large British consumer products company on its Pan-European expansion strategy. From 1991 to 1995, Mr. Bloom worked at Continental Illinois Venture Corporation (CIVC), a $300 million middle-market private equity group at Bank of America.
Mr. Bloom graduated magna cum laude and Phi Beta Kappa with a BA degree in Economics and Business Administration from Vanderbilt University. He earned his MBA and was a Palmer Scholar at the University of Pennsylvania's Wharton School of Business.
Greg Miller
CEO/President
Mr. Miller has been the President and CEO since July of 2001. During his time with the company, Mr. Miller has been the catalyst and closer of key business partnerships that leverage CrossCom National's industry expertise to a wide spectrum of customers and capabilities.
Mr. Miller's academic credentials include: Harvard Business School certification from the Advanced Management Program, Master's degree in Business Administration from Keller Graduate School of Management, and Bachelor's degree in Operations Management from DeVry Institute of Technology.
Bruce Leech
Founder
Mr. Leech established CrossCom in 1981 as a telecommunications broker providing business telephone systems to small businesses in the Chicago area. Mr. Leech held the position of President and CEO until July of 2001, and continues to serve on the company's Board of Directors.
Mr. Leech earned his certification from the Harvard Business School's Owner/President/Managers Executive Education Program, his MBA from DePaul University, and his Bachelor of Arts degree in Finance from Michigan State University.
